encrypting passwords using PHP?

Post by Mr. MacKenty » 06 Jan 2020, 13:48

A student asks:
I was wondering if you could help me with encrypting a password on phpmyadmin. I created my table for users and everything, but I can't find a way to encrypt the password. Hope you can help me.
In a nutshell:
  • You can't create encrypted passwords, your users need to do this.
  • You need to create a registration system so when your users create an account the password they create is saved as an encrypted password.
  • You will need 2 different files, a form which which collects user input when they register and a page which processes the data passed from the first form.
Here's some files which may be helpful. Please be careful because the second file assumes your user table is set up in a specific way.
